COMPREHENSIVE PREVENTION OF DELIRIUM IN OLD AGE GROUP PATIENTS WITH INOPERABLE FEMORAL NECK FRACTURE

One of the major problems in modern geriatrics is falling syndrome that frequently results in the patient’s long-term forced lying position, which in turn favors the development of delirium that occurs in 50% of patients with acute femoral neck fracture and in 20-30% during postoperative hospitalization. The hazard of delirium as a geriatric syndrome is the lower control of a patient over his behavior, progressive chronic cognitive impairments, and increased dependence upon others, which is highly undesirable during his care at home or elderly and disabled people homes.
