The authors have defined the clinical value of a set of indicators, such as VEGF-A and VEGF-A/VEGF-R1, in mitral valve prolapse; the reduction of these can judge the severity of endothelial dysfunction associated with an increase in mitral regurgitation and with the frequency of clinically significant arrhythmias.
