The paper considers the aspects of the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and clinical manifestations of pancreatic encephalopathy developing in 9-35% of patients with diseases of the pancreas, by worsening their course and increasing mortality rates. It emphasizes the importance of elaborating a pathogen-based therapeutic algorithm.
