The paper analyzes the causes of late diagnosis and the features of the course of tuberculous meningoencephalitis in children at the present stage. It describes two cases from clinical practice. To improve the outcomes of tuberculous meningitis, it is necessary to actualize phthisiatric alertness in the facilities of the general treatment network, to be able to timely identify Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, to use all methods for etiological diagnostis, including polymerase chain reaction and Bactec, and to immediately prescribe antituberculosis drugs in suspected tuberculous meningitis.
