The level of C-terminal telopeptides arising from collagen type II degradation during 3-month therapy using chondroitin sulfate (Structum), its combination with glucosamine hydrochloride (Artra) and Zeel T was estimated in patients with osteoarthritis. Better values were observed in gonarthrosis, particularly when Artra was used at the early stages of the disease; worse values were seen in Stage III osteoarthritis and its duration > 10 years.
