HEMOCORRECTION METHODS IN THE TREATMENT OF PSORIASIS

A total of 150 patients (mean age 37.5 years) with an exacerbation of generalized psoriasis vulgaris were examined to investigate the impact of plasmapheresis, ozone therapy, and their combination on its clinical course and some parameters of humoral immunity. A hyperactive humoral immune response with the high level of circulating immune complexes and the increased levels of IgM, IgA, and proinflammatory cytokines was found in the patients with psoriasis. Hemocorrection methods used in patients with psoriasis contributed to the enhanced clinical efficiency of treatment, better quality of life in the patients, and selective correction of impaired immunological parameters.
